Douglas Plante
Doug has been working in the post production field for a decade, in a variety of positions both technical and creative.
Two years at Avid’s technical support department provided him with a solid understanding of the nuts and bolts of editing systems and system integration. As lead rep for the U.S. division of Nitris support, he gained experience with the most powerful editing system in the Avid product line. This experience was put to use the following year when Doug transitioned out of the support business and became online editor for the Discovery Channel’s newly-launched HD Theater.
This was followed by extensive work with the Harvard Smithsonian Science Media Group, where Doug had the opportunity to participate on a wide range of interactive, video, and museum exhibit projects which required both his creative and technical expertise.
Over the following years Doug’s client list has diversified, and now includes a multitude of independent documentaries and nationally broadcast programs for WGBH, the Discovery Channel and the History Channel. He is also on the faculty of the Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University.
